Why do putters cost so much




















Yes it was beautiful and I am shallow. But could I make a put with it? Hell no. So after flirting with a couple more Internet purchases, I went along to a local golf centre that had a massive range of putters in all different makes, and tried every one, in the ship and on their practice green. Suffice to say I was there a while. In the end I walked out with a Rife , a putter I'd never ever heard of or seen before.

My putting from 6ft has improved immensely as a result. Obviously price will come back in to it, but I think you need to try out putters first hand. My wallet learned the hard way. An expensive putter that doesn't suit you is a complete waste of money, a cheap one that does is worth its weight in gold. The ball doesn't know what you're hitting it with, only you do.

I'm not saying an expensive putter might not improve things if it suits you, but if it doesn't it could do more harm than good. And besides, if it ain't broke, why are you trying to fix it. If you are good on the dance floor then why start messing around with it. I could not putt for toffee last season and it cost me a big cut on my handicap. How much force does the ball exhert on a putter? Are the shafts special? Is it marketing? Is it a short product cycle? I just can't imagine why a putter would cost so much. You can pick whatever colors you want, you can get your initials put on the putter, and you can get a custom grip as well. Some people love this concept and are completely willing to pay for it.

I am not one of those people. The only difference between one and a normal putter is the material quality and customization. I did some testing with a Scotty and a couple of other putters. Going into the thoughts about if expensive putters are really worth the extra investment, one might think if putters in general really make a difference. In turn, this means that your putter should invoke your confidence at all costs.

With this in mind, it is clear that putters do really make a difference in your game. Then the switch was made to a similar Nike putter when he was sponsored by them.

So even the best players in the world change their putter from time to time. You should also keep in mind that your putter is used for two strokes on each hole on average! So why are putters so expensive?
